Secure School / Campus ...
Narcotics, Firearms and explosives detection, tracking and search & Rescue.
The illegal drugs and firearms problem in schools and universities in Puerto Rico has increased to an alarming level. Experts do not anticipate improvement in the near future. We see in the media every day the violent acts that occur in our schools and universities, that range from simple assaults to assassinations. Regretfully, many of these incidents are directly related to drugs and firearms trafficking. Statistics reflect that the level of criminality in our schools has increased by 47% in the past 5 years. We know that our universities have become an area of interest for narcotics trafficking because the government’s law enforcement agencies do not have access to operate in the schools due to agreements with the universities in our country, or because they are private organizations.

Our services consist of orientation, prevention and detection of drugs and illegal firearms through the use of canines which are highly trained in the field of detection. These services focus on detection in buildings, residencies, vehicles, equipment or wherever requested by the contractor. Each search team consists of a handler and a canine. The number of teams required is determined by an expert trainer in detection services. At the moment of inspections, the team must be accompanied by a representative from the school or university or a security guard. The institution’s administration decides and carries out any interventions they deem necessary in the event of a positive alert.

Winstarpr K-9 offers you the tools and required procedures in order to prevent that our children, teachers and employees, be affected by this situation. Our Secure Schools / Campus program incorporates K-9 teams that are highly trained and certified in detection of narcotics and firearms combined with educational presentations about this illness that affects our society. We offer demonstrations of our programs through active searches which create awareness of the effectiveness of our canines and the importance of prevention. Our major asset is the ability to serve as a deterrent for those individuals with intentions of bringing in drugs or firearms into your institution. When the students and the community become aware that your school has a zero tolerance program for drugs and that it is reinforced with professional educational programs together with random searches by a K-9 team, you will see a difference in your institution.

We are always open for discussion on customization of services for your particular institution or industry. You can request access to further information on this and other Winstarpr K9 programs by completing the Request for Information screen. Let us know how we can assist you in meeting you needs!
